Principal's Weekly Message

Rising 9th grade students and parents should check the school calendar for important dates for registration.

Because of missed school days, dates have changed. Check the school calendar for new dates. Several are listed below:

Spring pictures for Trk 1 & 2 will be Mon. Feb. 8.

I-Dent-a-Kid ID will be Mon. Feb. 8 for those students who have money to purchase the ID. Cost is $8.00 for one card and $10.00 for two cards.

Honor Roll Breakfast for Trk 1, 2, & 4 will be Feb. 9 at 7:15 in the gym. Trk 3 breakfast will be Feb. 16. Parents are invited to attend, students have been given an invitation.

Parents, Students and Teachers: You are invited to a night of Dessert & Discussion on Feb. 9, 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Library Media Center. The discussion will center around what might be at the heart of challenges in the classroom. There will be open dialogue about what we all can do together to turn challenges into triumph! Childcare will be provided.

 

Student Dance will be Feb. 19, 7:00 to 9:00. Students must have a signed permission form.
***New information: there will be a PTA meeting prior to the workshop. Parents, you can also sign up for SPAN while you are at school.
Parents while your child is dancing you are encouraged to attend a Parent Workshop on Internet Safety. Please fill out interest form and return to school.

NC State Law and Immunizations
Every parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring that their child(ren) receive required immunizations. A recent change in NC State Law requires a booster. Proper documentation must be provided to the school by Sept. 23, 2008. Please contact the school at 266-8500 if you have questions about immunizations or contact Wake County Human Services 250-3900.

Visitors
East Wake Middle School now has a Campus Security System for visitor sign-in. This is an electronic, self-serve, visitor management system. The security system provides a personalized photo visitor badge. It takes a few moments to sign in. Please be sure to plan accordingly on your next visit to EWMS!

Insurance
A brochure with enrollment application for voluntary student accident insurance will be given to each student for parents’ consideration in obtaining cost-effective coverage for accident injury to students. Choose this link for more information.
